OCCUPIERS STATEMENTS QUEENSLAND

If you are an owner, or a business or a person, that is occupying, or managing a building in Queensland, you have a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in that building in the event of a fire or other emergency.

The Queensland Development Code Mandatory Part 6.1 (MP6.1) establishes the legal requirements for the service and maintenance of prescribed fire installations within QLD.

In Queensland all prescribed fire installations must be maintained in accordance with Australian Standard 1851-2012 to meet the requirements of MP6.1.

QDC MP6.1 requires that an Annual Occupier’s Statement be produced for each environment, providing authorities with what is essentially a one page, high level summary of the maintenance activities that have occurred over the preceding 12 month period.
